Happy Halloween!

We had a pretty fun Halloween this year. I've noticed it's alot easier to get Aaron to do things if I can convince him its for Tyler's enjoyment, not mine :) We made it to the pumpkin patch 3 times (Aaron went twice!) and had a blast riding the tractor, looking at the animals, and sitting on a few pumpkins. I had fun carving our pumpkin - thanks to Tory letting us come over so I wouldn't have to do it alone. I think it turned out pretty dang good.
Halloween night we just went to the church for the trunk or treat - I doubt we would have gotten anything good from our neighborhood anyway. Tyler was a monster but everyone thought he was oscar the grouch - o well, he was warm!

Football Season

Probably like most wives out there, we have learned long ago that during football season men think about not much else. I have now learned that women, being the great multi-taskers that we are, I guess should not expect that our husbands can perform even the simplest task WHILE watching football.

2nd Birfday

I can't believe Tyler is 2 already! Among other things, it means we've been in this apartment for 2 years - holy crap! But...I am loving this age right now. The last month especially are just hysterical to me as he really tries to talk - he's like my little parrot. He's definitely independent which can be frustrating sometimes but for the most part he's now my big bundle of joy.

Just some interesting things about Tyler:

~ He is such a picky eater but he has managed to jump up to the 30th percentile in weight by eating almost only chicken nuggets, pizza, grilled cheese sandwiches and pudding.
~ He finds a pair of Aaron's shoes and walks around in them almost half the day.
~ When he's not wearing Aaron's shoes, he's jumping on (and off) my bed!
~ He loves watching "moobies" of himself on the computer of when he was a baby.
~ His favorite shows are Dora and the Family Feud - yep Family Feud! (but only with John O'Hurley hosting of course :)

Happy Birthday Tyler - we love you!

IT'S A BOY!!

If you know Aaron and I, you know we don't really talk much about anything pregnancy/baby related until the end. The process already takes forever and talking about it just doesn't seem to make it go any quicker.
With some convincing Aaron came with me to find out what we were having. Aaron's family history rarely makes girls and of course we have only girl names that we like, so of course the ultrasound shows that...its a girl! Except it wasn't a good angle and the baby wouldn't budge. About 5 minutes later and one huge flip - definitely a boy! For that 5 minutes I was shocked and excited about all the little pink things I could buy. Oh well, Aaron really wanted another boy next and I just figure we'll have a girl eventually. And since we're really trying to get out of debt it's probably best this way. Now the poor boy needs a name...I guess we'll wait and talk about it when he gets here :)

OR give me your suggestions - I'll give you $20 if we even condsider it

Summer catch up

So...maybe its been a while. We have either been SO busy or doing nothing at all which makes me lazy enough to not post anything for 2 months. So here's a recap.

Every July we head to Deadwood Reservoir (about 2 1/2 hours north of Boise) to go camping with friends. It was my 7th year going! Aaron's parents conveniently bought a camper trailer this year that I thought needed more testing so they let us take it. It was an awesome vacation. Tyler had a blast playing on the beach, throwing rocks into the water, and fell in love with dirtbikes! Such a boy - can't wait until next year!

In August one of my favorite cousins was getting married in the Mt. Timpanogos temple so off to Utah we went. The wedding was beautiful and I was glad to see one of my best friends but I ended up with a horrible sinus infection and cough the whole time. My mom and little brother were in town and followed us back to Boise for a few days...not to see me though of course :) My mom shared Tyler's room for her visit and it was the saddest/cutest thing when he woke up whimpering because she was gone.

So as the summer weather fades, sadly our tans will also...

Tyler's Redemption

There were many reasons for us to be excited about the 4th of July this year. Aaron was taking a few days off so we could leave Wednesday to hang out with friends and go a few places that we love. Which was a blast, BUT the real reason we could not wait for the 4th is because in Malad they have races for each age group. Last year Tyler failed us with his second place finish in the crawl race. It was then that Aaron and I realized just how competitive we really are. The father of the kid that won cheated even, but there was no whistle blown. This is all we got: just disgraceful

But we decided to keep him until he could redeem himself next time. So I know this is such a stupid trivial thing to expect but that didn't stop us. We even talked about getting out the stopwatch. To our surprise, we never did.

The time of the big race came. Tyler delivered the greatest 6 second performance of his life. We couldn't have been happier! He won a silver dollar and of course popsicles.

Now the final decision. Do we start a shadow box? - naturally leaving the first spot empty as a reminder. Or do we turn it into a Christmas ornament to sparkle on our tree every year?
