We have wanted to go to Oregon since we've moved here and still never found a chance. Since my little brother decided to get married in the Portland temple, we made the best of our opportunity. We carpooled with my sister and drove to Aaron's brother's house just outside of Portland. They took us to Astoria first. We watched the sea lions and went up The Column to see all the bridges. It was gorgeous. And WINDY. The next day we went to the coast, had some yummy seafood and played on the beach. The sand was amaaazing, but the weather wasn't hot enough for me :)
